As of November 5, 2018, GTB has the ability to route 711 calls for people with disabilities in Virginia.  Now, all GTB customers in VA, DC and Maryland can take advantage of Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS).

What the 711 TRS service provides

With the 711 TRS service, citizens with disabilities obtain full communication through the telephone.  Consumers of these services, specifically people who are deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing or who have difficulty speaking, can communicate on the telephone via specialized equipment and services in order to connect with family, friends or business associates with ease.

Consumers can access the relay 24 hours a day either through a toll-free number or by simply dialing 711.  Operators called Communication Assistants process calls by voicing everything the TTY user types, and by typing everything heard from the conventional telephone user.
