Line Hunting allows you to specify a list of numbers, which will be tried in sequence until one is found that can accept the call.
There are two types of Line Hunting : Regular and Circular
Regular/Sequential Hunting - allows the list of numbers to be hunted and when the caller reaches the last number in the hunt sequence and there is no answer the call will be terminated.
Circular Hunting – allows the list of numbers to be hunted and when the caller reaches the last number in the hunt sequence and there is no answer, the call proceeds through the list again until the call is answered.
Example:
RegularSequential Hunting:
- 410.753.3000
- 410.753.3001
- 443.276.3000
- 443.276.3001 – After the call is attempted here and no answer the call will be terminated.
Circular Hunting:
- 410.753.3000
- 410.753.3001
- 443.276.3000
- 443.276.3001 – After the call is attempted here and no answer.
- 410.753.3000 – The call goes back to the originally dialed number to start the process again. If the customer does not want the 1st number to be included in the 2nd attempt of the circular hunting, the 2nd number down can be entered in this area and so on.
NOTE: Line Hunting takes precedence over all Call Forwarding features except Unconditional Call Forwarding.
