Local service price increase

Owings Mills, MD  3/5/2012 -- Effective April 1, 2012, GTB will be increasing the price of specific Retail Local Service components. While GTB has not had a price increase since April, 2009, the wholesale cost from our provider, as well as business expenses associated with providing these services, has resulted in the need for this price increase.
The increase will apply ONLY to specific services and customers. If your phone lines are provided over the Verizon network, affected services include: business lines, custom calling services, local usage, business listing, operator services and business channel services. The rate for directory assistance calls and operator services will increase for customers on the Verizon network and GTB network. The effective date of this increase for GTB customers will be April 1, 2012 -- pending the approval of the Maryland Public Utilities Commission.
GTB remains committed to providing affordable voice and advanced broadband service, at reduced pricing, to our customers. For customers who receive services provided over the Verizon network, GTB will continue to offer pricing at 5% below the retail tariff rate. As an example, your GTB Business resale line rate(s), prior to April 1, 2012, was either $14.82 or $17.24. The new rate(s) will be $16.50 or $19.05.
We encourage all customers to consider migrating their services from the Verizon platform to the GTB network.
